Angel Club (north) aim to make experimental, contemporary art and performance across a range of disciplines. With an emphasis on the evocative and the sensual, their work spans theatre performance, visual arts, audio installation and public intervention.
Formed in 2003, the company received a Method Lab commission from ‘greenoom mcr’ for its first work Angel Club (north) and was selected for the National Review of Live Art 2004. Subsequent works include Falling in 2005 and I’ve never been to the Moon in 2006. The company’s major theatre work ‘Obstacles to Coming Home’ toured national venues throughout 2009/10. Interdisciplinary works ‘Beyond the Sea’ and ‘Minute’ explore the company’s interest in public arts participation and the on-going archiving of cultural memory.
Angel Club (north) have been supported by Word of Warning, hAb and greenroom (manchester). They have been produced by ‘3-sixty Creative Productions’ and were associate artists at Lanternhouse International. The company receive financial support from Arts Council England and the University of Central Lancashire.
